12 Scholarships due in March 2016

Did you miss some scholarship opportunities for this Spring semester or even whole academic year? Do you want to try and apply for more for the Fall of 2016 and Spring of 2017? If this is the case, here are 12 scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year! If earned, any one of these 12 scholarships could greatly help decrease the total amount of student loan debt you owe, which is no small matter once you have to start paying those loans back.

The deadlines for these scholarships are during the month of March. Don’t worry about the scholarships whose deadlines have passed and focus on the present! Start applying to as many of these scholarships as you can, it’s never too early!

  1. IFEC’s Food/Foodservice Communications Scholarships. Award: $1,500-$6,000. Deadline: March 15th. This scholarship is open to both full-time undergraduate and graduate students who have shown a major interest in writing or public relations in the foodservice or food and beverage industry.   2. The Pisacano Leadership Foundation Scholarship. Award: max. $28,000. Deadline: March 1st. This scholarship is a great opportunity for students who are entering or have already entered medical school for, particularly, family medicine by the Fall of 2016. Also, you need to show how you have demonstrated commitment to family medicine, leadership, community service as well as other qualities for this scholarship. Click here for the application!   3. United University Professions College Scholarship. Award: $3,000. Deadline: March 1st. This scholarship is open to both undergrads and graduate students. However, there are different requirements. For undergraduate students, you need to be a full-time student at a SUNY school with at least 18 credits and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75. For graduate students, you need to be a full-time student at a SUNY school with at least 9 credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.95. For the applications to the scholarships, please click here.   4. Church Hill Classics / diplomaframe.com’s My Future Scholarship Contest. Award: $1,000. Deadline: March 8th. If you are creative or have been wanting to try your hand at some form of art, then this is the scholarship for you! To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to be a full-time student at a U.S. college or university for the 2016-2017 academic year and be a legal U.S. resident. Along with these requirements, you need to submit an original, digital creation and relate it to the theme of This is how I Frame My Future accompanied by a description.   5. The Lemberg Law “Stop Cell Phone Robocalls” Scholarship. Award: $1,000. Deadline: March 31st. For this scholarship, you need to be a full-time undergraduate student in the U.S. during the 2016-2017 academic year. In addition, you need to submit a 140-character statement about cell phone robocalls. If selected as one of the 10 finalists, you will need to submit a 500 word essay about cell phone robocalls.   6. National Institute of Health Undergraduate Scholarship. Award: $20,000. Deadline: March 14th. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a citizen of the U.S., a full-time undergrad student at a 4-year institution, have at least a 3.3 GPA, and have “exceptional financial need”.   7. Partners in Pharmacy and the NCPA Foundation J.C. and Rheba Cobb Memorial Scholarship. Award: $2,000. Deadline: March 15th. If you are a Pharmacy student, then this is the scholarship for you! You must be an NCPA student member as well as enrolled in an accredited U.S. school or college of Pharmacy as a full-time student.   8. Neil Pruitt Sr. Memorial Scholarship. Award: $2,500. Deadline: March 15th. For this scholarship, you must be an NCPA student member as well as enrolled in an accredited U.S. school or college of Pharmacy as a full-time student.   9. Willard B. Simmons Memorial Scholarship. Award: $2,000. Deadline: March 15th. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be an NCPA student member as well as enrolled in an accredited U.S. school or college of Pharmacy as a full-time student. In addition, you must provide a one page description of your demonstrated interest in independent pharmacy management and entrepreneurialism.   10. The Tree Center Scholarship. Award: $500. Deadline: March 20th. This scholarship is open to all college and university students in the U.S. who have at least a 3.0 GPA and are an American citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa. In addition, you must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others. You must submit an essay, letter of recommendation and a photo.   11. Tripping.com Travel Lovers Scholarship. Award: $1,000. Deadline: March 31st. If you’re a college student who’s done some traveling, then you’ll want to take a look at this scholarship! Tripping.com is offering $1,000 each to two undergrad or graduate students who can write a 1,000-2,000 words essay. For the essay, you will be writing an engaging travel guide to your favorite vacation spot. For further information, please visit their website.
  12. SuretyBonds.com Small Business Scholarship. Award: $1,500. Deadline: March 31st. Have experience with small businesses? Then look no further! This scholarship is open to all full-time students who are citizens and/or residents of the U.S. You will need to submit an essay of 500-1,000 words about how small business ownership has shaped you into the person you are today.
