“I’m a new student, just starting in Spring of 2015, and I still haven’t completed my FAFSA. Can I still do it?”

That’s OK. You can still fill out the 2014/2015 FAFSA. Make sure you complete it by  to allow enough time for processing.

“What if I haven’t completed my taxes yet? Can I still fill out the FAFSA?”

Sure can! If you’re a new student, go ahead and fill out the FAFSA, using an estimate for your tax return information. You can use last year’s tax return as a guide for how much you should estimate. Then, when you do file your taxes, you can go back and update your form.

If you’re a continuing student, we would recommend that you wait to fill out the FAFSA until you have completed your taxes. However, if you want to apply for the need-based, federal, financial aid then go ahead and estimate your taxes and fill out the form now. Just remember to go back and update the form once you have actually filed your taxes.
