Any graduate student pursing a career in the field of social work or public health is eligible to apply for the Ruth Taylor Scholarship. Students also must be residents of Westchester County and be enrolled full time. The fund was established in tribute to Ruth Taylor upon her retirement as the county’s Commissioner of Public Welfare and in recognition of her nearly four decades of outstanding service.
For the 2015-2016 academic year, awards will range between $1,000 and $5,000 for tuition or maintenance, or both. The submission deadline is Friday, June 19, 2015. Financial need, public service and scholastic capacity are part of the evaluation criteria.
